Yangzijiang Maritime Places Huge Order for 24 Vessels

Yangzijiang Maritime, one of China's leading shipyard groups, has announced a comprehensive newbuilding order for a total of 24 vessels. The order package spans different segments of maritime trade, showcasing the group's versatility.

The package includes six bulk carriers, fourteen chemical/product tankers, and four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with a capacity of 319,000 DWT each. This distribution underscores Yangzijiang's strong position in both the dry bulk and tanker markets.

The 319,000 DWT VLCCs rank among the largest crude oil carriers in the world, and their construction highlights the shipyard's advanced engineering capabilities. The significant number of chemical/product tankers points to rising demand from the refining and petrochemical sectors.

While no official statement has been made regarding the total contract value or delivery schedule, industry sources suggest that such a package will substantially strengthen Yangzijiang's workload for 2026-2027. The company's current order book remains robust despite the global contraction in shipyard capacity.
