Çindemir Shipyard was established in 1917 as a workshop focused on repairing the iron components of wooden ships. Over the years, it expanded into the repair of riveted steel plates and steam boilers, becoming a company in 1965 while adapting to advancements in ship repair technology.

Passed down from father to son, the shipyard has preserved its traditions to this day. Relocating to Istanbul’s Tuzla Shipyards Region in 1991, it began docking services in 1999 with a 3,000-ton capacity floating dock. In 2007, Çindemir enhanced its capabilities with a new 5,000-ton capacity floating dock, continuing its maintenance and repair operations.
